SILICON BALLET – new single on the way! Meantime ……
SILICON BALLET is a side project from Belgian indie rock band Showstar. The project came into being earlier this year when members of Showstar and a handful of their musical friends decamped to a remote church for a week’s worth of experimentation. The record that emerged was a strange, wistful, dreamlike adventure in chamber pop – part Yann Tiersen, part Syd Barret, part Go-Betweens.
A new single ‘Slowly Slowly,’ is due for release in October, and this time I’m led to believe they’ve exchanged the church for more modest/conventional surroundings. However we can still expect serenity and peculiarity in equal measures, pitched against their more familiar acerbic pop sensibilities.
At LOUD HORIZON we like Showstar. We also like SILICON BALLET and so it goes without saying that a review of the new record will appear here as soon as it becomes available.
