PSYCHIC ILLS: ‘Might Take A While.’
Earlier this year you may recall me banging on about my new-found psych favourites, PSYCHIC ILLS. Their album ‘Hazed Dream’ (bought on vinyl) was one of my most astute purchases this year!
Well, the ensuing eleven months or so have seen the band’s stock rise as gradually the world becomes aware of their blues infected, droned psych. In 2012 they undertook two full US tours including a stop at Austin Psych Fest, and had their first trip to China. In August they released the song “Take Me With You” as a split 7″ with Moon Duo. They recorded ‘One Track Mind,’ their fourth full length, throughout the autumn months.
‘Might Take A While,‘ features production & back up vocals by Neil Michael Hagerty of Royal Trux/The Howling Hex. The album artwork is by former 13th Floor Elevators songwriter and artist Powell St. John.
A review of the full ’One Track Mind’ album (due for a UK release on 18th February 2013) will follow soon … but you probably already know it’s going to be a beezer!

Have you heard the new record???
