BRISTOL ARCHIVE RECORDS

BRISTOL ARCHIVE RECORDS are an independent label, run by music enthusiast, Mike Darby. He and his team specialise in resurrecting the music from their city with particular focus on the punk and reggae bands bands circa 1977 – 1981.

As was the case with the majority of bands up and down the country at the begining of the ‘DIY’ era, the opportunity of promoting their music through a ‘formal’ label was a rare occurrence, the consequence being that much of what went on in Bristol (and other major cities) went unheard.

BRISTOL ARCHIVE RECORDS are now giving many of these bands their day in the sun, having so far made 210 digital releases, 6 CDs, 4 LPs and two 7″ singles. Many more are planned.
